Some very good fights went down:
Conlan got revenge against the Russian who won one of those only-in-the-Olympics fights some years back. It was pretty much one sided, so much that one judge gave the Irishman every round and the other 2 judges gave him 8 and 9 rounds respectively. Crawford got knocked down by a tough as nails Russian, Kavaliauskas, but the ref cut him a break and ruled it a slip even though it wasn't. But all that did was wake the sleeping giant. He has trouble getting fights? Well, duh. He demolishes everyone and it's not his fault Spence got in a nasty car wreck (does anyone have any idea how bad he was injured, cos word is his face was badly damaged and his reps have I believe said he will not fight in 2020). But the fight of the night was Commey-Lopez. That 2nd round knockdown was LIGHTNING. I expected Lopez to win but not that quickly 'cos the Ghanaian is a tough customer. Kinda suspect Lomachenko was not expecting that outcome either, and he didn't look too enthused about having to face Lopez in April. Former student of mine, while in college at FIU, worked out at the same gym as Lopez a few years back. Said he trained very, very intensely and was said to be gifted even then. And now he's got a belt. Bring on 2020. Hopefully some great matches up ahead to be made since not many are confirmed as of now.
