Sorry I didn't feel like spelling his name so I sounded it out.
Why no talk about this debacle of a match?

Atleast wrestling admits its scripted, boxing is still trying to convince the public it's not

It was an entertaining fight, but never in my wildest nightmares did I think they'd give him a win, let alone a unanimous decision. Would've thought it was a prime example of home cooking but none of the judges were Aussies.

They rewarded Horn for landing a few power shots and being aggressive. Basically the first Rocky movie if Rocky had won. I don't get it.

Pacquiao did not look very good but it's hard to against a guy who is that awkward and rough. That said, he threw and landed way more shots. And Horn's face afterward looked like Sloth from The Goonies. Pacquiao by contrast needed stitches on 2 separate cuts from head butts.

Whole thing smelled like a fix because now there will be a rematch and interest will be generated.

Another example of why boxing is viewed with slightly less legitimacy than a banana republic dictator. And without a single, legitimate governing body a la the NFL, NHL, NBA, etc., it will continue to exist as such.

I don't get into the "all fights are fixed thing" but I guess the question begs, who LOSES when there are rematches and trilogies? I think there's something valuable in it for everyone

I think this fight was a lot closer than people think. Teddy Atlas went into the fight expecting Manny to get a quick KO and he was salty the whole fight as Horn proved to be tougher than Atlas thought. If it wasn't for the 10-8 round in the 9th (I think), I would almost understand the decision. That said I still think Manny won, but I don't feel it was the highway robbery lots of folks see it as (even if it was in "Argentina"!)
